After undergoing knee replacement surgery, it's important to perform simple exercises to aid in your recovery and regain strength and mobility. Here are a few exercises you can try: Quad Sets: Sit on a chair, tighten your thigh muscles, and press your knee down onto the floor. Hold for 5-10 seconds, then release. Repeat this 10-15 times. Straight Leg Raises: Sit on a chair, straighten your surgical leg, and lift it in front of you. Slowly lower it down. Start with 1-2 sets of 10 repetitions. Heel Slides: Lie on your back, bend your surgical knee, and slide your heel towards your buttocks. Then straighten your leg again. Repeat this 10-15 times. Hamstring Curls: Stand behind a chair for support, bend your surgical knee, and bring your heel towards your buttocks. Lower it down slowly. Repeat this exercise 10-15 times. Ankle Pumps: Sit on a chair, point your toes forward, and then pull them back towards your shins. Repeat this motion 20-30 times. Stationary Cycling: Once approved by your surgeon or physical therapist, use a stationary bike with low resistance for 5-10 minutes. Gradually increase the duration and resistance over time. Balance Exercises: Stand near a counter or chair for support, and try standing on one leg for 30 seconds. Then switch legs and repeat for a few sets.
